He embarked on his academic journey with a solid foundation in Chemical Engineering, graduating with distinction from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto in 2004. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue further studies, culminating in a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the same institution in 2009. His doctoral research, under the guidance of Dr. Tarek A. Moursi, delved into the intricate realm of air quality policy decisions, employing statistical methods to unravel the complexities of social mobility in Egypt.

Following the successful completion of his doctoral studies, He delved into the realms of academia and research. He assumed various roles, including that of an Assistant Researcher at LEPABE/ALiCE at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto. His academic pursuits extended beyond the confines of his home institution, as he served as an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Porto and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Agostinho Neto in Luanda, Angola. His teaching repertoire encompassed diverse subjects, ranging from Preliminary Project to Air Pollution and Gaseous Effluents Treatment.
