He embarked on his academic journey with a keen interest in microbiology, which he pursued diligently through his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from VBS Poorvanchal University, Jaunpur, UP, India, he laid the foundation for his future academic endeavors. His passion for microbiology led him to pursue a Master's degree in Microbiology from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, where he deepened his understanding of microbial sciences.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the field, Dr. Giri further honed his expertise by pursuing a Ph.D. in Microbiology from RTM University & CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur, India. His doctoral research, titled "Studies on Bio-treatment of Waste Gas Emissions Containing Dimethyl Sulfide (DMS)," under the supervision of Dr. (Mrs.) Asha Juwarkar and Dr. R A Pandey, showcased his dedication to addressing environmental challenges through innovative microbiological solutions.

Armed with a solid academic background, He embarked on a prolific professional journey characterized by significant contributions to the field of microbiology and environmental science. He served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow for nine years, during which he collaborated with esteemed researchers and institutions worldwide. His research focused on diverse areas such as biodegradable polymers, wastewater treatment using biochar, bioremediation of pollutants, and the application of novel biochar in anaerobic digestion processes.
His professional journey also saw him assume various academic roles, including Visiting Faculty positions at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) and Feng Chia University (FCU) in Taiwan. Additionally, he served as a Deputy Quality Manager for a testing laboratory, contributing to NABL accreditation efforts.
